We are current and former member of the the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) organizing for a union without cops, correctional and probation employees, and other carceral workers. We formed in Summer 2020 in the wake of the murder of George Floyd by former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin. Disappointed and disgusted by the total failure of AFSCME’s leaders to advocate for anything other than disproven, watered-down reform tactics, we come together as the answer to working class demands for a truly anti-racist labor movement that fights with, not against, the most marginalized and incarcerated within our society. We demand a cop-free AFSCME!
